Next Year’s Sailing Calendar
The dates will be confirmed very shortly (only Chichester and Swarkestone to be finalized). All of the dates have been entered in the
calendar, and as soon as they have all been confirmed I will put together the "Open Meeting" page for 2010.
South Cerney Sailing Club have regretfully advised that their calendar can not accomodate a Tinker meet in 2010. Some Tinkers are members of
Cotswold Sailing Club which is just down the road from the South Cerney Sailing Club. Following discussions and a formal application, the TCOA will be welcome to meet there in March next year. The Cotswold Sailing Club is within walking distance of the pub that we normally have the Saturday evening meal.
Swarkestone Tinker Rally - October 10th & 11th
The
results have been posted.
Bassenthwaite Tinker Rally - September 19th & 20th
There was a terrific turnout with 16 boats turning up. Check out the
results.
Coniston Friendly Meeting - June 2009Four boats sailed from the campsite for a week in June. The wind was thrillingly strong for most of the week which led to some exhilarating sailing. The wind on the Friday was perfect for a sail from the northern end of the lake down to Peel Island for a picnic lunch. Mr Mark (a.k.a. Roy Bradshaw, who earned his new nickname by consistently missing buoy number 3 in two races at Bala) has added some 2009 footage to the end of his video from 2008. Have a look at the video
here.
Annecy Friendly Meeting - June 2009
The Annecy meet has been and gone. The weather treated us very well and you can check out the results and see some photos
here.
Tinker Rallies
Though the main attraction of the Tinker rallies is the racing, these are also events where people new to Tinkering are encouraged to come along and have a chat with the more experienced Tinkers, and have a potter around while there is safety cover available. Racing is not compulsory - but once you have the bug . . .
Marketplace
There is a strong second-hand market for Tinkers, and one of the places you can check out to buy or sell is our
Marketplace.
